Supplier-funded food development

Free menu development through supplier-funded support

Your supplier can fund the expertise. Your team can focus on the food.

We first negotiate with your current foodservice supplier to fund your DishLab project. Alternatively, we can introduce one of our trusted national partners, with products of the same or better agreed quality.

What “free” means

No consultancy fee for the agreed services.

The foodservice supplier pays DishLab for the project agreed with you. You continue paying for your food as normal.

The development scope, any purchasing commitments and supply terms are set out before proceeding. Funding is subject to an agreement with the supplier; it is not an unconditional offer of every DishLab service.

We look for savings where available, but do not promise a fixed reduction. Samples and specifications are agreed so that buying decisions protect the food you want to serve.

Two supply routes

Stay with your supplier.
Or meet the right partner.

01 / Current supplier

Build on what works.

We review your current products, pricing, deliveries and credit arrangements, then approach your supplier about funding the project. Staying put may be the right outcome when your requirements and the funding arrangement can be met.

02 / National partner

Change for the right reasons.

Where appropriate, we introduce a trusted national supplier and compare the buying basket, quality specifications, service levels and terms. You approve the proposed arrangements before any change.

The programme is scoped with you

Food development, with practical follow-through.

Develop the food

Bespoke menus, afternoon tea, wedding and conference dishes, or signature products. The number of menu developments is agreed to suit the project.

Make it commercial

Product sourcing, complete-plate costing, GP review and specifications. Pricing arrangements are agreed with the relevant supplier rather than promised indefinitely.

Support the kitchen

Photographic specifications, cooking guidance, allergen and nutritional information, launch training and refresher support where included in the agreement.

Bespoke manufactured products are developed with specialist production partners. Licensing, volumes, development costs and exclusivity are agreed separately where applicable.

Clear answers

Before you decide.

Do we have to switch food suppliers?

No. We first explore funding with your current supplier. A move to a trusted national partner is an alternative, not an automatic requirement.

Will the food be the same quality?

Products must meet the same or a better agreed quality specification. We compare specifications, samples, pack sizes and usable yield rather than relying on a product name alone.

Are savings guaranteed?

No. We use our purchasing power and supplier relationships to seek better value, but any saving depends on your products, volumes, requirements and the terms available.

What commitments would we make?

Any purchasing requirements, project scope, funding conditions, delivery arrangements and credit terms are explained and agreed before work starts. There is no blanket promise that every supplier can fund every project.

What happens if supplier funding does not fit?

You can discuss an individually quoted bespoke package. We agree the scope and fee before proceeding, without presenting it as a free service.
